How do I create a booking?
Choose a mechanic and service, review the details, select your location and schedule, then confirm the booking. The mechanic can review and update the request from the mechanic dashboard.
Can I chat before booking?
Yes. Open a mechanic profile and choose chat. The first message creates a pending conversation so you can discuss the repair before placing a confirmed service request.
Why is my sent message duplicated?
Refresh the chat page after updating it. The chat now ignores duplicate server message IDs. Both participants must also be logged in with separate browser sessions.
How do I send a photo, video, document, or voice note?
Open a conversation and use the attachment controls beside the message field. Photos and videos preview in the conversation, documents show their filename and size, and voice notes can be recorded with microphone permission.
Why is my location inaccurate?
Allow location access for localhost, enable GPS on your device, and retry outdoors if possible. RepairKar requests a fresh high-accuracy position and opens shared coordinates in Google Maps.
What is required for voice and video calls?
Both participants must be logged in and inside the same conversation. Calls require localhost or HTTPS, browser microphone or camera permission, and a supported modern browser. Calls use an internet connection, not a phone number.
Why can I see an authentication error?
A 401 Unauthorized response means the current browser session is not logged in or has expired. Log in again in that browser. User and mechanic accounts need separate active sessions when testing chat.
